Kendrick Lamar and Drake are very popular hip-hop artists and both tend to have great music. However, in the past few months tension started rising between the two. This all shocked the community because they made songs together and seemed to be pretty cool. Now seeing where their relationship stands, shows a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Let’s start from the beginning of all of this.
This all started back in late 2010’s but earlier this year, it started to come to the media. When Drake came out with his album (For the All the Dogs) came out and J-Cole was in his song called “First Person Shooter” and a line in the song talked about the “big” three which was Kendrick, Drake and J-Cole. But then, Future’s album (We Don’t Trust You) came out and the song called “Like That” featured Kendrick Lamar and he clapped back at them saying there isn’t a big three and it’s just him. This all really caught fans attention because they knew it used to be them three together and everyone was just confused on why they started having issues with each other. Drake had been throwing shots and shade at Kendrick for a good minute but now Kendrick felt like he needed to respond.
They started making diss tracks towards each other going back and forth. This is the order of each song:
April 19 – Push Ups – Drake
April 19 – TaylorMade Freestyle – Drake
April 30 – Euphoria – Kendrick Lamar
May 3 – 6:16 in L.A. – Kendrick Lamar
May 3 – Family Matters – Drake
May 3 – Meet the Grahams – Kendrick Lamar
May 4 – Not Like Us – Kendrick Lamar
May 5 – The Heart Part. 6 – Drake
This wasn’t just any regular beef, lots of allegations towards Drake started rising. Kendricks songs touched very personal and sensitive parts towards Drake’s life. These allegations were taken very seriously and even made Drake lose some fans because of this.
